Guyz Nite Hits Road, Shelves

Finally I see one of the ads for Live Free Or Die Hard, and…it’s the one without music. Boo! But the DVD is out now. Word to the wise, though: Gunz “Mick” Bones tipped me that only the two-disc set has the video on it; the one-discer says it does, but it doesn’t. I’ve watched the “behind the scenes with GN” feature, and it redefines the DVD-extra genre. So, buy/rent the double-disc verzh.

Also, GN has two shows coming up in the next few days! Awesome! First gig is at the Lo-Fi Social Club (1825 North Charles St.) in beautiful Baltimore, MD — 8 PM (that’s tonight!) — and I am kind of bummed to report that Gunz refrained from using a “come for the crabcake, stay for the beefcake” tagline in his email blast.

Next show is this coming Monday, November 26 — 8 PM at the Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon St. in Somerville, MA, a venue I’ve actually visited back in the day.

Gunz also mentioned a benefit show in Marinia, NY, hometown of Dwayne Reade — and made some vague threats about “a contest — the fan who can prove that she has been to the most dates on our tour will receive an amazing reward, which will be explained, vaguely, in the next letter I send to you.” It probably has something to do with free CDs or beers; I approve.

As always, you can check the Guyz Site for updates and tour info.

Yaaaaaaay! I bought the dvd the day it came out (I love Bruce more than is probably healthy…) and the Guyz Nite features were the first things I watched. They are indeed awesome. And – Glarkware shirt!! am I a huge dork that I was excited about that? don’t answer that…

Okay, be at your mom’s house and scream “THAT’S MR. STUPIDHEAD’S BAND” when the ad comes on and see if YOU get the stinkeye from everybody, including the dog.

Order was only restored once I explained that it’s Sars’s brother. Mom said, “Oh. Hey, that’s great!”, Internet workings were ‘splained, and life moved on.

    Congratulations all ’round!
