Okay, so I left Yahoo!, even though I had a great team/time there, because I had some other things I wanted to do, like work on The Blotter, and also, let’s be honest, curse freely while talking about TV, because what the fuck, The Following.

Then I got to reunite with my non-carnal spouses Tara and Dave as a partner on Previously.TV! Eeeeeeeeee! I am enormously pleased and proud to be part of it, and OMG I cannot wait for us to launch, so: please like us on FB and follow us on Twitter for more news on that, AND AND!

I’m live-blogging that Phil Spector trainwreck on Sunday night, so please join us for that. Chat is on Previously.TV, linked above, and we’ll tweet info as well.

And it’s not even my actual birthday! (That’s tomorrow. No, this is not a gift troll, but yes, on my natal day, it is true that cake calories can’t find you, so get after that.)

  • GracieGirl says:

Congrats on your new gig, Sars! I’ve been eagerly awaiting Previously.TV since it was promised to us on the Extra Hot Great podcast. (May it rest in peace.) (Sniffle.) Happy birthday eve!

  • Joel says:

As someone who joined back in /99, when it was still MightyBigTV (though maybe not back to the Dawson’s Wrap days…), this news makes me very happy. I can only hope a weekly podcast with the three of you will be part of the equation.

  • Laura says:

Many happy returns Sarah! Thanks for blogging.

  • Haras says:

Three cheers! Like GracieGirl, I’ve been waiting patiently for Previously.tv ever since the end of the EHG podcast. Very excited to hear that you are part of the equation now!

  • Lindsay says:

Happy Birthday, Sarsh! LOL about the cussing…I worked at a .com gig during its startup phase, and when they went all “corporate” a memo went out to all employees about cursing in the office and over email (along the “don’t do it” lines). My team unanimously agreed that it didn’t apply to inter-team conversations and emails, because WTFE ;)

  • Deanna says:

THE BAND IS GETTING BACK TOGETHER?!?!

Ahem. Apologies. I JUST OH MY GOOOOOOOD. How much procrastinating time did I put in during college in the early ’00s with Television Without Pity? And until the sale? A lot. I put in a lot of time.

Can 2013 be the year of Throwback Sars and the return of the long-form weekly essay? (I know, I ask too much.)

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

@Deanna, I was just talking on Twitter with some of the MSCL “listies” from, no joke, 1994. So it’s throwbacky around here for sure. As far as essays…that era is probably over but you never know.

  • Kim says:

Congrats and happy shrieking here, too…I’ve spent many a long commute grieving for EHG.

Also, hey, is that Guy Fieri in the middle of the courtroom peanut gallery? Phil! That wig is OFF THE HOOK, brah!

  • Kitty says:

“Reunited, and it feels so good…”

Since it’s also MY birthday, I’m certainly taking this news as an early present!

Also, I am so damn excited about the live-blogging Phil Spector extravaganza, Sunday night can’t come soon enough.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Hey, birthday-mate! Have a happy one.

  • OMFG! This is, like, the best news I’ve had all month. Seriously, you guys.

  • Leigh in CO says:

    Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

I’ll be heading to a Rockies spring training game for your big day, so I’ll hoist the first baseball beer of the season to you and your happy news.

Also, yes, what the fuck, The Following?

  • Vanessa says:

Best. News. Ever. Seriously, it’s not even close to my birthday and I’m excited like it is. Happy Birthday Sars!

  • Happy birthday, and congrats on reuniting (cause it feels so good).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I normally don’t talk about things like this, being a firm believer a person’s hair (facial or otherwise) is their own business, but that wig on Al Pacino is the scariest thing I’ve seen all year. Even disregarding whatever baggage the filmmaker and subject bring to the film, there’s no way I could watch with a straight face.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Oh, also I just whined at the Couch Baron for like two days until he agreed to co-chat with me, so that awesomeness is happening also.

  • Jen S 1.0 says:

    Hip Hip Hurrah!

Happy Birthday Sars, and if you ever want to sneak onto TWoP to join us in tearing into The Following like a rabid cougar into an overfed poodle, I for one will ask nothing more of life.

  • Emma says:

Oh, good, it’s after midnight, so happy birthday!

(Been meaning to ask – are you watching Red Widow? Has plenty of its very own WTF aspects, but I’m in for the duration for a reason I’m sure you can sympathize with *cough* GV.)

  • Melissa says:

    Happy B-Day Sars!

I had to read that three times to make sure I was reading correctly. Were my early morning eyes deceiving me? This is the best news – it’s like at the end of Grease when the gang gets back together and there’s singing, dancing, and a flying car – but this is for reals. Yay!!! (That movie was awesome when I was 11…)

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

I’m not watching Red Widow, but since it’s my birthday, I might have to do nothing but catch up. Mmm, GV.

  • Vicky Lee says:

    Happy birthday!

I’m now rocking back and forth, quietly and cheerfully muttering about The Great Reunification of 2013.

    It’s a good feeling.

  • attica says:

I gave up on, as I call it, The Creepy Poe Show after 4 eps. I wanted it to be good, because 1) Bacon; 2) Purefoy; 3) Filmed in nabes around my house! Whee!; 4)Poe seems like a fun pivot point. Could not do it. Way too much implausible stoooopid. WTF doesn’t even cover it. You’re all made of sterner stuff than I.

I’ve already got PTV bookmarked. Giddy? I’ll say.

    Happy Birthday, too. Have cake!

  • year of the cat says:

Happy Happy B-day! Heh, and I had been wanting to ask you if there would ever be an oral history of Ye Good Old Days. Can you do a recap of your recaps? “Previously, not on PreviouslyTV…”

  • Cora says:

    Sing with me:

    Happy Birthday to Sars
    Go close down some bars
    And live-blog that movie
About that guy with hair from Mars

  • Wehaf says:

Happy birthday! Or, since that’s tomorrow, a very merry unbirthday to you!

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Oh, it’s today. Me, William Shatner, Reese Witherspoon, M. Emmet Walsh (“not that motherscratcher, Bill Pahhhhkahhh”), Marcel Marceau. Quite the collection of loons. Hee.

  • Jenn says:

Happy birthday! You also share it with Wolf Blitzer, Bob Costas, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Karl Malden, and Lena Olin (if this site is to be believed.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

COSTAS! Always forget him. (And Sondheim.)

  • Tarn says:

My people! [virtual hugs all around]

This is awesome news and feels like my birthday too! Happy happy birthday Sars! Can’t wait to see the gang all back together.

Al, you were Michael Corleone and Serpico for Pete’s sake. Where’s your dignity?

  • S says:

Will Previously.TV have a podcast? Please tell me there will be a podcast.

Happy birthday! Will miss your recaps on Yahoo.

  • Sarah says:

Happy birthday, Sars! And congrats on getting the gang back together at Previously.tv!

  • Sandman says:

Eeeee! Happy birthday! Congratulations! And also what Deanna said! And Cora, too! But with many, many more exclamation marks!

While I’m up: why does the lady pictured beside Big Al’s Bigger Hair looks almost as much like Teri Garr as Helen Mirren? That feels like a distinction that should be easier to make.

In conclusion, have an awesome birthday, Sars.

  • Kat From Jersey says:

Happy (belated) birthday, and great news! Always exciting to see new things from you all. I’ve been on board since “Notes from the Smoking Section”.
