I'll take responsibility for sending out this stinkbomb. I saw it several years ago off a second-or-third-gen bootleg VHS, during which my friend Dave suffered an aneurysm and didn't speak to me for about a week. I'm amazed that someone decided to put it on DVD, honestly. But I applaud your ability to find worth in it. :-)

Think how I felt reading the shellacking of Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead. I put it in the White Elephant hopper knowing that it's considered crappy, but I genuinely like it.

Great review but I resent your dissing of Cool as Ice. I swear to god I have seen that film multiple times and enjoyed it every time.

If you dig old martial arts movies, try "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow" – it's Jackie Chan's first starring role & it's overdubbed. Cheeeeeeeeeeesily overdubbed & that's the joy, right there. We peed our pants laughing every time Jackie opened his mouth. Good martial arts stuff though.
"stop-motion hot-air-balloon chase, for Christ's sweet sake" OMG, I must see this. Sars, can you think of a drinking game for this movie? Shooters every "pilgrim" or something? Becaiuse I think we'll need the alcohol!

@Ali: I have tried to watch it since, and while it wasn't as bad as I remembered, I would still have sex instead. But rom-coms really have to be done nearly perfectly for me to like them at all; they're just not my thing.

@Squish: Welcome; glad you liked the piece. The funny thing about KKF is that, had it been traditional, "genre" kung fu, I would have been more forgiving, because martial-arts film of the '70s is like porn in that you're not really watching for the dialogue or the acting. It's about the money shots. But this was trying to be a satire, so I wasn't kindly disposed towards it.

I do wonder what ever became of Lance D. Hayes — if he's out there anywhere.

Very nice Sarah! This is my first time at Tomato natrion, and I enjoyed the fact that you, at times, took the approach of "what makes this work". When I watch garbage, or in Ben's case, am forced to watch garbage, I try to do it for the time capsule effect too.
