The Culture of Fear

You might remember Barry Glassner from Bowling for Columbine; I’d had his book on my wishlist for a while, but after seeing the movie, I motivated and bought it, and it’s very good.   It’s thorough but not dry or pedantic, and it takes a strong position without getting overwrought.   If you liked Innumeracy, you’d like this — it’s a similar idea (i.e. that people don’t ask the right questions of their media).
