The N Cookie AA Semifinal, Round 3

Oh, this one depresses me because there’s no way Oreos aren’t taking it.

(Not sure what’s going on here? Check out the N Cookie AA FAQ.)

And yet I was hoping so much that Keebler Fudge Stripe and the Great Cookie Danes would keep going. —Stephanie V.W. Lucianovic

*****

Do we need to bother with a write-up? It’s like Secretariat at the 1973 Belmont; Oreos will win by such a big margin, the cameras won’t be able to keep the other horses in the frame. Royal Dansk gets my vote, but I’m not sure why I’m bothering. — Sarah D. Bunting

Like Sars, I am casting my vote, but I’m guessing it won’t matter. I live in OH, a swing state – my vote should count more! Come on, people, don’t be sucked in by the chocolate cookie that gets stuck in your teeth before an interview. Vote for the classic Keebler Fudge Stripe – elegant yet witty with cute spokespeople, to boot!

  • Kizz says:

I put in my vote for the Fudge Stripe. I did what I could. Oh well.

  • Lily P. says:

    FUDGE STRIPE FOR PRESIDENT

  • Lisa says:

    Team Fudge Stripe!

  • Leigh in CO says:

The Dansk are at least making decent showing! I didn’t pick the loserest cookie in this round!

  • ferretrick says:

Why are y’all wasting your vote on a 3rd party candidate like Fudge Stripes when you should be helping the only cookie with a chance to stop Oreo, the Butter Cookies?

  • Pamela says:

This one makes me sad. I loathe Oreos (traumatic childhood incident) and they’re probably going to win the whole thing. Damn devil cookies.

Anywho, I voted for Nilla Wafers. They make a really yummy crust, y’all.

  • Ben says:

There’s a reason Oreo is winning. You can admit it, it’s the better cookie. It just is folks, accept it. OR-E-O! OR-E-O! (think Ru-Fi-Oh!)

@Pamela, I completely understand traumatic childhood event based aversions though. Andes mints are an evil that is not allowed in my home as the result of one.

  • Nanc in Ashland says:

Oreos: the only cookie I ever refused to eat as a kid. The taste, the look, the texture–one giant blech! I have vivid memories of taking one bite, two chews followed by a massive spit take and frantic brushing of my tongue. And I have an incredible sweet tooth!

I threw a vote for butter cookies as my beloved PF Brussels went down early.

  • Kristin 2 the Kristin Boogaloo says:

I went rogue and voted for Nilla Wafers, but let me say this, for those not in the know:

Oreos are vegan. That’s right, they contain no actual chocolate nor any actual cream. Poseurs.

  • Allie says:

    Sorry, Fudge Stripe. Oreos.

  • Rebecca U says:

That was difficult. I voted for the fudge stripe but was torn by the recollections of the Mother’s frosted cookies that we only got as kids when we went camping. The association is so strong I still buy them as part of our camping supplies.

Eh, oreos. Not bad but not my favorite. I don’t recall seeing if the Dare maples made to this round – those are my fav overall.

  • Jen S. 2.0 says:

Sad here, too. An Oreo overdose in the after-school program in 5th grade has made me totally indifferent to them. Gooooo butter cookies!

  • Pam says:

Count me as the second -Pamela- vote for Nilla Wafers. Good for dunking and crusts, awesome with pudding or ice cream, but with a subtle and complementary taste unlike the Oreo that takes over. Maybe y’all are scared that vanilla = boring?

  • Meri says:

Come on! I’ve nothing against Oreos, but Danish cookies deserve the win! They’re delicious, you get a ton of them in one tin AND the tin can be used later to store stuff. Can you store things in an Oreo wrapper? No, no you cannot.

  • cayenne says:

Oreos are mocklate-flavoured compressed-lint wafers held together with sweetened toothpaste, Nilla Wafers are good only for pie crust, and Fudge stripes…well, if a cookie needs fudge stripes, it’s obviously not edible on its own. FEH. (I’m still bitter about my poor Dare Maple Creams. And my Brussels. In case you couldn’t tell.)

ROYAL DANSK ROYAL DANSK ROYAL DANSK!!!

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

    hee, “compressed lint”

  • Krissa says:

I will eat any other cookie over Oreos. They are the worst. I will nibble around RAISINS in other cookies before I eat an Oreo on purpose.

  • DensityDuck says:

ugh, I know that seeding can’t predict actual outcomes but it sucks that we ended up with Nilla Wafers, Royal Dansk, and Oreos in the same flight!

  • Maria says:

I would house an entire container of every cookie in this semi. DAMN YOU NCookieAA randomizers! (Famous Amos got my vote on this computer. Mothers will get it on another. The others don’t need my help.)

I am LOVING y’all’s negative descriptions of Oreos.

  • Jo says:

    OREOS FOR LIFE.
