Thank you to HP and to Sars, the very happy Intern and the rest of the tomato nation community for being so inspiring. Not even to mention the students and teachers. Time to find some projects to fund.

My HP giving card arrived in my inbox today! I'm having a pretty crappy week, let me tell you, but I'm feeling so much better now that I've picked out a bunch of projects to fund.

Yes, and I donated to a teacher today and it gave me a check box on the payment page that said something like "this donation was inspired by the tomatonation giving page" by checking gives dollar total to this giving page! Well, of course. So I guess we can keep adding to the total

What I love is that Donor's Choose has left up the whole Social Media Challenge set of pages, and that at 12:30 am Eastern Time on November 3rd, Tomato Nation Bet Red is showing its most recent donation as "6 hours ago" while all the others are at least "2 days ago". We just don't know how to stop, do we?

Another touching thank you. The "unbelievable generosity" was for a $500 project that was matched, so the final cost to us was around $5 per kid.

-----------------

I can't begin to thank you enough for your generosity. This has been a tough year for our program. With funding down and interest up we were worried we wouldn't have materials for projects to do with the kids. This was magnified during our first meeting last week when almost 30 new students showed up wanting to join the program! Keep in mind this is an inner-city school where it is not considered cool to stay after school, let alone for engineering! But they filled every seat in the room for 2 hours after school. You have given us hope. We never thought we'd have access to this kind of material. Our program can look forward to taking on a whole new module now, which is integral to the engineering design process: modeling and prototyping.

Your kindness is doing more than just giving students materials for learning. It is showing kids the importance of giving back, that there are those who believe in what they are doing and who support their dreams. Thank you again for your unbelievable generosity. It is making a difference in the lives of some truly wonderful kids.

As a teacher in an under-funded Brooklyn school, Donor's Choose has done a lot for my classroom and others in my school. Thank you for your support to the teaching community.

@Liz C: I know! Not only did it make me feel better about the state of humanity, it was also a very worthy homework-break.
