Contest: Fall Into The Gap

Submitted by on November 11, 2009 – 8:00 AM19 Comments

Daphra at Donors Choose sent out an email yesterday that contained the following festive coupon:

We would also like to pass along a cool offer to you and your supporters: a 30% off discount at any of The Gap stores. From Thursday, Nov. 12 through Sunday, Nov. 15, you can receive 30 percent off any in-store purchase made at the Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy — with five percent of your net purchases going to benefit DonorsChoose.org. The Gap’s Give & Get campaign has raised over $130,000 for students and teachers to date! To take advantage of the opportunity, print this coupon and present it at the point of check-out. Help us go viral!   Copy the URL and post it on your Facebook page, blog, twitter, or even e-mail it to your family and friends!

Just in case you need new threads or want to get that holiday shopping started early.

Edited to add: apparently there’s an online code as well: PPXGXFDPDPW1.   Spend, my pretties.   (Thanks, Keira!)

  • Jenn C. says:

sigh. in store only, which means no love for us plus size chicks. And I was all excited.

Sorry, don’t mean to be a downer, but that’s always bums me out.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

I’m pretty sure it’s for any Gap Inc. store — BR and Old Navy too. Gap and Banana are not great at the sizing range, but ON has plenty of sizes in every store I’ve been to.

  • Tricia says:

ON moved all of its plus sizes to online only a couple of years ago.

  • Jenn C. says:

Even ON only sells their plus size stuff (which I LOVE) online. Their regular line does go up to a 20, which is great, but still sadly not quite great enough to cover my ummm, generous, ass.

Maybe I’ll just get some Christmas shopping done =)

  • Keira says:

Actually I got the email today promoting the 30% off for the Give & Get, and it has an online coupon code.

You also get to select your charity of choice, which is of course Donors Choose for all of us!

I’ll forward the email to Sars and the esteemed Intern to share with you.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Then someone needs to notify Atlantic Center’s ON, because there’s a bunch of rogue size 22s loose in the store.

  • ibislynn says:

I tried using the code online and it said it was invalid, which sucks because I too am too fat to be allowed to be seen in their retail stores.

  • ibislynn says:

D’OH! Sale is supposed to start tomorrow, probably why it didn’t work!

  • Margaret in CO says:

Rogue size 22s…hee. Roughing up the other clothing, stealing thier buttons, scaring the size 7s off to the size 10 section, leaving zippers undone. I always wondered how that happened, now I know it’s those naughty rogue 22s.

That’s cool of the Gap/BR/ON people!!!

  • Charmaine says:

The online code is only good one time. I won’t be using mine so someone is more than welcome to use it. DC is my charity of choice, so the 5% will go there.
DJDK6TTQQDTD Enter at checkout Nov 12-15, and you can shop at BR, Gap and ON in one transaction.

  • Patricia says:

“Rogue size 22s.” Love it! I imagine dresses darting stealthily among the racks and shelves. Hee.

  • Jenn C. says:

    Keira, you rock!

sarah, I have never seen anything bigger than a 20 in either of the store’s I shop at! Clearly, I am going to the wrong ones.

  • Kerry says:

Apparently the individual online codes are only available once…Ive tried all the one’s I can find online and they all say they’ve already been redeemed…This stinks…

  • Jan Brady says:

THANK YOU SARS—just in time to finally do some fall shopping!

  • ibislynn says:

OK, so the online codes above have been used already, but I decided to call the customer service number listed on the Flyer and ask if there was a way for me to get a code for online use, since they don’t sell clothes in my size on the store. The rep was very helpful and checked and they gave me a code to use! One time only, of course, but when I applied the code and checked the details it showed DonorsChoose as the recipient, so they will be getting my 5%.

So for anyone who has to purchase online, just get your order ready and when you’re ready to check out, call 1-800-427-7895 and hit 0 until you get a rep. Tell them you’ve received the flyer Sars linked above, but that you can’t buy in-store because they don’t have your size and that you’d like a code. Then apply it in the promo slot and you’re good!

  • VKay says:

Like Charmaine, I won’t be using my online code, so someone else is welcome to put it to good use. It is: DJB6KZL2144G
I already picked DonorsChoose as my charity of choice, so the donation will go there. Happy Shopping!

  • Ashley says:

I also called, because I am too grotesquely, horrible deformed to buy clothes in the stores (read: my inseam is 35″ OMG FREAK!), and they wouldn’t give me a code to use online, but they did take my order right over the phone with the 30% off, so that works too.

  • Carly says:

Is there a trick to getting an online coupon code? I got the email from DC, but I don’t think it contains an online code. The only store we have in town is Old Navy and I’d prefer the other options.

  • Jesse says:

Carly, just call customer service and they’ll give you one. It just worked for me!
