The Tomato Nation Fall Classic: Doubleheader

Submitted by on October 2, 2010 – 9:45 AM2 Comments

(If you think I’m having a contest with myself to see how many baseball puns I can flatten in the next month, you are correct! “Enjoy”!)

As of this writing, not quite a day and a half in: $4,530 and 9 projects completed on the Donors Choose side; $140 for baseball uniforms and JRF scholarship money. That’s close to five grand, which is close to one quarter done, in less than 36 hours. I would use more bolding and exclamation points if this came as any kind of surprise, but the Nation is mighty and swift, as we all know.

Y’all weekend warriors can find the Fall Classic page by clicking here, or donate for Little League uniforms by PayPal-ing (“PayPalling”?) the amount of your choice to tnfallclassic at gmail dot com. Your friend and mine at Pitch In For Baseball, Ira, is throwing in some PIFB hats, so don’t let him down.

Not sure you want to donate now/again? Consider: any receipts forwarded to me today (2 Oct) and tomorrow (3 Oct) are eligible for a copy of Ken Burns’s Baseball in the format of your choice. (Maybe not, like, 8-track, but you know what I mean.) Tell a friend, skip a latte, and give some money today!

Thanks. Awesomeness continuing.
