Okay, that’s actually in Yeadon, but here’s the point: I’m heading to Philadelphia and environs. Meet-up?

I have a couple genealogy-research stops to make in Bucks, should be in the city proper by cocktail hour. Any interest in a little meet-up last-minute? I don’t know neighborhoods but the hotel is on South 17th. Suggestions welcome, but I do love a hotel bar. I do not love the prices, but I can take you, dear readers, as an entertainment expense. Hugs and Old-Fashioneds! (Or Coca-Colae. I’m easy.)

Herry up (hee) and leave a comment or tweet at me if you can come, and either way, secret-local stuff to do and see (and eat; seafood recs especially welcome) is great too.

If you like German food and a huge variety of beer, check out Brauhaus Schmitz at 718 South Street. SO GOOD.

Oh, and also, the Rosenbach Musuem is cool. 2008-2010 Delancey Place.

I’m not a local, so I’ll miss the meet-up but http://www.gooddogbar.com/. Go. It is lovely.

  • Kay says:

Is Philly anywhere near Minneapolis? No? Crap!

  • JR says:

I was raised in the area (though I am now living across the country, so won’t be able to make the meet-up, unfortunately) and if you are interested, I am more than willing to lecture you sanctimoniously about how and where to order your authentic Philly cheesesteak.

  • Allie says:

Hey me too! I’ll be there Saturday afternoon/evening for dinner, then we’re going to see Allo a Darling at Boot and Saddle, or whatever it’s called.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Thanks for the advice so far, guys! I’m in my hotel, I’m-a take a little nap, then I think hotel-bar fun times at 6:30.

Hotel Palomar. Look for a tall blonde-ish lady grimacing at Letterpress on her phone.

If you make it back to Pton, let me know. Though I suppose it depends on when you’re going to be here.

  • Robin in Philly says:

Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Why did I not check this yesterday? I hope you all had a great time last night.

  • Aimee says:

Oh I would have loved to meet up though I head to Philly tomorrow, also staying on 17th.

  • Suzanne says:

Noooooooes, I missed meeting the great and wondrous Sars! ;____; Come back soon!

  • Colin says:

ARGH, I can’t believe I missed this! I recently moved from New York to Philly and would’ve loved a tomato-y meetup as a reminder of The Old Life. Heh.

If you’re ever back in town and need someone to get you in to the art museum for free, drop a line!

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Double argh, we were en route to the art museum and got lost! (My fault, as usz.) See you next time!
