I’m hoping the Nation can help me with a jewelry search.

After years of lusting after it, I finally tracked down Liz Lemon’s necklace from 30 Rock.

Sadly, this is way out of my price range (further sleuthing suggests two charms and a chain would be $300+). I’m not normally much of a jewelry wearer, so I don’t even know how to go about tracking down something like it. I don’t want a knock-off, per se, but I’d really like to find something with a similar shape and handmade look. I wear a lot of button-down shirts for work and I’m trying to dress them up a little.

Any brand or store suggestions? Keyword search ideas for Etsy? I’d like to stay in the $100-or-so range, but I could probably go up a bit if it were really awesome.

Thanks!

Hi Sars,

I’m teaching Year 7 History (equivalent to Grade 6) for the first time this school year and one of the topics is the Crusades. I remember reading a children’s book set in the period which featured Saladin, Crusader castles and a very exciting scene set in the fortess of the Assassins in which their leader demonstrated his followers’ complete loyalty by having one jump off the battlements to his death (I was quite a bloodthirsty 11-year-old).

Anyway, I’d like to track it down but I can’t find it — I though it might be by Henry Treece but it isn’t.

So, children’s fiction title about the Crusades, probably published in the 1970s in Britain and reasonably historically accurate — any ideas?

Thanks,
Mrs. B
