Vote Donors Choose in the American Express Members Project
The American Express Members Project is awarding up to $5 million to the organization that receives the most votes from cardmembers, and Donors Choose is in the running. If you have an Amex card, this is a pretty easy way to help Donors Choose without spending any (more) money yourself — and if Donors Choose wins the kitty, the folks who voted will get to spend the money on classroom projects of their choice.
Here’s how it works…
The AEMP, which you can visit by clicking the link, is a series of voting rounds; if you have an Amex, you can vote, one vote per cardmember in each round. For every vote received, Amex will donate a dollar to the kitty.
If you’re already registered on the site, just log in with your usual information; if you’re not, Donors Choose put together a clip-‘n’-save voting guide, which you can access here. Again, you’ll need to be a card-holder to register. And what better time to add Big Green to your wallet, the better to buy some of the loot we’re discussing in the previous entry?
The voting is in the semifinal phase right now, which means the top 25 projects need to get whittled down to 5. As of this writing, Donors Choose is in 4th place; your votes would help to ensure that they reach the next round.
Quick review: If you have an American Express card, please go vote for Donors Choose in the semifinal round. You can vote again the final round; let’s just heave them into said final round before we worry about that. And if they win the final round, we’ll get to spend the loot on supplies and field trips and things — for free!

Thanks for the heads up on this, Sars, I just put in my vote! BTW, my boss is an attorney who is heavily involved in the Planned Giving community in our area, and I passed along info about Donors Choose to him so he can spread the word. He really loved the site and the mission – and he LOVED that I was able to show him the pics and letters from all the little kids I’ve helped. Thanks so much for introducing me to this great org.

I’ve seen a ton of commercials for this, but they haven’t made me want to get an Amex. Mostly, they just make me want to keep Lake Winnepasaukee clean.
