Henry — Portrait of a Serial Killer
Interesting. The movie puts you in the position of sympathizing with Henry, or at least siding with him, while strongly disliking Otis; the categorization of the sins is interesting. I did have some difficulty believing Henry as a character — it’s probably because I’ve read so much true crime, but his affectlessness just seemed a little too flat and random. That said, Rooker is great in the role, and the casting of Traci Edwards was genius; she’s so real and not Hollywood-y, it gives everything an almost documentary feel. (7/31/06)
