“I wrote 63 songs this year. They’re all about Jeter.” Just kidding. The game we love, the players we hate, and more.

Monologues, travelogues, fiction, and fart humor. And hens. Don’t forget the hens.

A reminder: Film Park Slope kicks off tonight at 7:30 PM (doors open 7:15-ish) with Ira Sachs’s Married Life, followed by an in-person Q&A with Sachs himself.   Series sensei Keith Uhlich asked me to mention that the film will be screened via DVD projector, in case you don’t like surprises of that AV sort.   For more info on how to get to the screening, click here.

Speaking of The House Next Door, Bean’s uncle Tom Stempel is doing a rad column on screenwriting over there.   His latest missive discusses a few recent French films, and Alan Ball’s newest effort, Towelhead.   For a more portable verzh, buy Tom’s book, Understanding Screenwriting.

And finally, a fitting farewell to Shea Stadium.
