Worthwhile once you get to the end, but really unfun to watch — which is partly a compliment to Gena Rowlands’s performance (un! comfortable!), partly a comment on Cassavetes movies in general (awk! ward! and! long!), and partly that, well, there’s Hollywood crazy, and then there crazy verité, and the former is entertaining, while the latter is, like, I think I’ve had Thanksgiving with that person.Vintage Cassavetes: good art, bad entertainment.(3/13/06)
