Chris Rock: Never Scared

Submitted by on March 5, 2007 – 3:23 AMNo Comment

I laughed, and it’s good, but I think I expected too much.   He repeated himself too much, and some of the marriage material was…I don’t know how to put it, but “beneath him” is close.   It just came off kind of cheap…sharply observed, as always, and he didn’t pull any punches, but it felt flat.   It’s worth watching, though, still, for one bit in particular which I won’t ruin for you, because, now that I think about it, I knew about a bunch of the segments ahead of time from Entertainment Weekly and maybe that’s why it didn’t rock my world.   (4/19/04)
