  • Anodyne says:

Well, my choice for the Watson Division is already half-made – Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is p. dang dark, although in a fridge horror kind of way that requires knowing some of the Word of God behind the story to make it really bleak rather than just unsettling. (TV Tropes has the pertinent information, if you’re interested.)

Grave of the Fireflies – also incredibly bleak. Anime? Yes. This does not mean that it is not one of the most depressing movies I will ever watch; I’d rate it above Schindler’s List, even.
