It reminded me a lot of Day for Night (and starred one of the same guys) and is really fun to watch. This is going to sound dismissive, but one of the things I like about French movies is that they’re short — not because they’re bad so it’s better that way, but because they don’t feel the need to explain every damn thing and dick around for two and a half hours like a lot of U.S. movies. If they’re done in 90 minutes, they’re done. I like that about them. (5/17/04)
