N Cereal AA: Monday-morning status report
Round of 64 voting for Classics, Fruit/Nut, and Fiberfest has closed. You can see the results here; I won’t list every cereal moving on, but highlights include the street-fight upset of Corn Flakes by Cocoa Krispies, the surprise victory of Kashi, Chex upsetting Crispix, and almost every Cheerio in the draw still standing…although I don’t think they’ll all survive the next round.
Sugar Shock voting is still going on, so make your voice heard before the polls close tomorrow; the Round of 32 will begin on Wednesday.

I think one Cheerio variant went down – Banana Nut Cheerios. To which I say: hallelujah.
Edited to reflect that Banana Nut Cheerios bit it. I actually like those, too. Sigh.
I don’t have a problem with Corn Flakes going down. Most of the people saying “oh, Corn Flakes are good!” were actually talking about using Corn Flakes as an ingredient in other dishes, and that’s not really what this poll is about. This is in-a-bowl-with-milk, and if you can’t close the deal there, well, there you are.
Wow. I am shocked- SHOCKED- at some of the outcomes here. Golden Grahams? Count Chocula?
Let me add, I am so excited about the chocolate/cranberry granola I found recently. Addictive!
I can’t believe all the monster cereals AND Cookie Crisp are down in the first round. You people have no sense of fun.
So, because of this competition, I just finished a whole box of Frosted Falkes, by myself, in 4 days. A whole box. God, the last bowl is always the best, because all the extra sugar goes to the bottom of the box.
If by “sense of fun,” you mean “interest in eating sweetened cardboard,” you’re correct.
So much hate. We could all be eating delicious cardboard together.
