Sarah: “No, but I really hate Sean Penn.” Mr. S: “Oh, me too, but you won’t mind him in this.” And I didn’t; a couple of times, I could see him doing That Sean Penn Thing, that “look at the choice I made there, let me talk to you about it in The New Yorker for twenty hours” thing, but it was enough of a piece with the character that it didn’t bother me much. I don’t think I’d watch it again, but I liked the music, it was a sweet little story and didn’t try to do too much — it’s minor work, but strong work. (5/8/06)
