The Amy March Shirt Of Justice: Update(s)

Submitted by on March 18, 2011 – 10:46 AM14 Comments

3/18: ALL PRE-ORDERS OUT! Thanks so much for your business (and patience); enjoy. I recommend laundering both types of shirt in cold water, inside out.

Bummed you didn’t get one? No problem! You now have two options for getting your mitts on one:

1) Order directly from me. I have extras in almost all sizes; just shoot me an email and see if the size you’d like is available. Still $20 per shirt for U.S. orders and $22 anywhere else in the world.

2) Order from the Tomato Nation store on Spreadshirt.com. The TN SS store offers the v-neck a few of you said you wanted, and if you want a color besides yellow, you can customize it — so if you liked the logo but not the color/styling options, that’s your best bet. I can add other styles if you’d like; just email me the specs. You can also order the TN flag shirt from that page. The down side is that it’s a bit more expensive.

So, that’s the shirt menu. Questions, comments, size reservations — email me at bunting at tomatonation dot com.

3/15: Okay! All of the lemon lovelies have gone out. I ran into a snafu with the ringer tees (long story), but the replacements have arrived, and the last orders should go out tomorrow (16 March). Thanks so much for your patience!

3/8: Shirts delivered. Checking inventory; expect to send out first wave of orders tomorrow (9 March). You’ll get an email notifying you that your order has shipped. Yay!

3/7: At laaaaast! Shirts shipped! Delivery expected by end of business tomorrow, Tuesday 8 March.

3/1: Got design sign-off; approved it.

2/25: Order is in; waiting for design sign-off from printer.

Can’t wait to get it! So excited!

  • Daisy says:

Is it just me? I’m not finding tees with those names at the American Apparel website. I want to make sure I get one that fits. Can anyone provide a direct link? Thanks & looking forward to the shirt!

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Try customink.com — they should have those styles listed.

  • Jen S 1.0 says:

I humbly suggest, for future orders, perhaps a v neck if they’re available? I just like how I look in v necks, much better than round necks.

Just a tiny, humble suggestion, ma’am! Please don’t give away my breakfast!

  • Louisa says:

I agree with Jen about v-necks. And I think I would buy this if it came in any color but yellow (the girly version). I hope this is the first of many literary tees!

  • Isabel C. says:

    I will buy one!

Also, for the record: when I’m working on something and my computer starts making suspicious noises, I now tell it not to be Amy March.

  • Cici says:

I’m sorry if I’m being obtuse, but I don’t get it. Is it supposed to be pro or anti-Amy? I get the lime reference, but I don’t know what it’s supposed to read as. I lime Amy March? Please explain. It is a really cute shirt. Thanks!

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

@Cici: It’s more or less a play on the famous I [heart] NY shirt. You can kind of read it any way you’d like, pro- or anti-Amy, but there’s no big joke you’re missing, except the pickled-limes story. I just wanted to do a shirt about hating Amy that riffed on the NY shirt, and the lime was only obvious symbol.

  • Liz says:

    And there was much rejoicing!

  • Jane says:

I would definitely get on board again if you decide to make a coordinating “Free Laurie!” shirt.

  • Judi says:

Is there still a way to buy the shirt?

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Not at the moment (thus the two-week pre-order period). It’ll become available again at some point.

  • Judi says:

Thanks! I figured as much but had to ask, because the shirt is amazing.

  • Sandy says:

Just finished reading LW for the first time ever (I’m 32, and student-teaching in China, hence all the time on my hands). Boy I hate them all. Can we do an “I nag Meg March” shirt next? Because sisterfriend has a lot of advice to give out.
