Contest: 52 pick-up
$47,876 — pat yourselves on the back. You’ve got another chance at the Roomba today, so keep reading.
Thanks again to Jenn and Wiley for ushering in match fever at 45K. When’s our next match? Glad you asked! It’s at 60K, and here’s how it works: when we get close to $60,000, I’ll ask you to use the ShareThis button you see at the bottom of each TN entry, and share the contest with friends — tweet it, FB it, Digg it, get it out there. It’s free, it takes five seconds, and if we log 50 shares of any kind in one day, The Great And Powerful Asirda will match 3K.
Nothing to it, right? But first we’ve got to get to 60K…and we’ve got a holiday weekend coming up. As I said yesterday, this is the toughest part, pushing that big rock up the hill, but it’s really going to start to roll at the next match. We can totally do it; hang in there.
So! I’ve got two Archie McPhee Surprise Bags to give away today; donate to “Outdoor Physical Activities” (let’s finish the frolf project already) or “Geology Rocks! City Kids Take Science Outside!” and forward me your receipt by 11:59 PM ET today, and you’re eligible.
And the Roomba is back in play if you can hit 52K today. Any project you like, just make sure it’s on the Bet Red page and forward me that receipt.
Once we hit 52K, it’s not that far to 60K…and then we hop up to 63K…it’s going to get easier. Free stuff salves the pain for now, though, so if you haven’t plundered the change cup in your car yet, now’s the time.

It’s not impossible that supernumerary “shares” will cause me to *become* less ordinary and more powerful — and thus a bit more generous. You never know with the Eccentric Asirda (mwahh-ha-ha-ha)
Sars, I have been donating to almost all of the miniprizes and forwarding my receipts to bunting at tomato nation.com and I haven’t received any confirmations from you. I only got the first one, which was a general donation. Are you sending confirmations for the miniprizes?
@Heather: I send a confirmation for every receipt I receive, regardless of what it’s “for.” You may want to check your spam trap. My ISP was having some sort of turf war with Hotmail/MSN addresses last week, but that’s since been resolved.
Regardless, if you haven’t gotten an answer, feel free to forward it again. (Note that leaving the subject line untouched is best.)
This one also needs a bunch of money & it ends in 6 days!

If we’re pitching projects, I happen to know that Ms G (not me, I swear) just ended up with 56 kids in the class she wants to use this book for. FIFTY-SIX! Bonkers. So even though the project doesn’t technically end until March, she would be using the books immediately.
