Contest: Ocean’s 300K
…Well, well, well. $271,888. Five grand in a day. It’s a pleasure working with you.
Just a little more work left to do: keep in mind, reaching 280K by Saturday at 5 PM qualifies us for a 20K match from Mighty Big TARhead. I think we can hit the goal well ahead of time, the better to enjoy the climbing numbers. Don’t you? So let’s do that. Just over 8K to go — let’s get to $280,000.
“What’s my motivation?” Well, let’s see. If you donate to anything today, you could win: a copy of Ocean’s 11 OR Ocean’s 13 (thanks, Trash!); a copy of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead; or a copy of Office Space. Mmmmmkay?
And if you donate to “Eager Language Learners Need French Materials,” you could win a $10 Amazon gift card, compliments of Kim G. (Funded!)
Forward me your receipts to bunting at tomatonation dot com by midnight ET. But if you’re having trouble choosing, I’d suggest the French materials (you’re still eligible for the other prizes for today), or picking from the short-expiry-date list below.

Vanessa, quite dusty in my office too, suddenly.
These Thank You and Update letters are just slaying me! In a good way, of course.
You guuuuuuys. I am feeling sick and it’s tech week and blah blah blah exhausted and this is cheering me up SO MUCH. I heart you all, you’re awesome.
From Mrs W. and only $109 to go for Who took the Drama Out of Kindergarten? http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=297676&challengeid=23248
“I am so touched that in such a short time so many people have made a contribution to our project. I had almost given up hope about a month ago and then suddenly there was a glimmer just last week.
A mere $538 left for this teacher to be able to receive 5 student desks – aaugh, it’s just heinous that she has to make a project for this!

I checked the spreadsheet and TN has now completed 440/665 projects, which is about 2/3 (66%) of the projects on the giving page. Orgiawesome!
Phil’s eyebrow compels me to donate! I have no choice! Seriously, you could ski down that thing.
Sars, you rule for pulling this thing together every year!
Thank you so much for mentioning the French class! I donated to it back mid-month and was so mad that I have no money right now and couldn’t give more. I really want those kids to read Petit Nicolas.
Who took the Drama Out of Kindergarten? is now funded!
Not much to add here except that Phil’s eyebrows inspired me to go tame my own. In other beauty news, my hair just ate Manhattan. Sorry, dudes.
… Bet Red!
Eager Language Learners Need French Materials = funded, whoo-hoo!
Poor Ocean’s 12 never had a chance.
I’m apparently highly allergic to parachutes and photos of same. SNIF!
Tomorrow’s payday – woot!
French materials is funded, hurray! It is awe-inspiring to watch you guys take a project down in hours – thank you so much! I’m the one who originally donated for my mom’s birthday, and she’s going to be so stoked to hear it’s completed. Merci a tout from a neighbour to the North!
i’ve been on vacation for the past week. i just checked the numbers. $273,000+?? holy freaking tomatoey awesomeness, you guys.
I want to bring two projects to everyone’s attention hoping others will help me fill them out either now or with their HP cards in Nov.
This first one is a project in the school district where my sister is a librarian. The project is for a student published book of poetry. I know I did one of these in school and still have it. There’s a pretty seductive thrill to having one’s work in print. http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=302557&challengeid=23248
The second is a project in the school district my son would have gone to if we were still living in Texas. This could be the classroom he would have gone to next year. They are asking for books on cd so ESL students can take them home and the whole family can hear the words spoken correctly in English. http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=308582&challengeid=23248
Both projects have less than $500 to go. I’m betting red we can get these funded before they expire.
YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allergies! Allergies! Allergies! *snif*
Dudes, 3 minutes to midnight and $275,520 already?! Day-um. *grin*
