DC Trip: Pix!
The TN Flickr group is here; you can also see a more complete catalog — including my utterly graceless carousel dismount, and a few snaps in which I look 1) drunk and 2) about to throw up on The Rock — right here.
Feel free to upload photos to the Flickr group; any problems, let me know.

Okay, whatever I’ve said in the past about the Greatest. Tags. Ever, I take it all back: “Mrs. Uglyface sets W. aflame with her glare” is the champion, optimus tagorum, followed by “shut up sequels,” hee.
By the way, the hat is a homemade toque by reader Claire J., who also donated hats as prizes in the contest. It’s a very toasty topper and was a WAY better option than the hat that came with the costume.
I knew I wasn’t the only one who twittered (tweeted?!?) about the hat’s cuteness.
This is probably one of the worst things I’ll ever say…but does Jackie O’s hair look like she regularly wore it…or how she looked immediately after JFK was shot? Because that looks messy to me.
I’ll go burn in hell now.
The wax figures gave me the wiggins.
Thanks!! I was looking through the set, and I was all, “Waitaminute! Is that MY hat?!”
Super-awesome!
I love this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/31939234@N04/3353807733/in/pool-tomatodance) – it’s so deep, pensive, poetic, what have you. Just a young tomato going out into the world, ready to make a change! Or a salad! Stay tuned!
I also like the one with you and Mike Tyson. Hilarious.
That “W aflame” pic is now my wallpaper!!!
You can practically see the death ray…
Also? You look just like my cousin Debbie in that pic.
Sars + Tomato Nation,

I think my favorite part of the entire thing is the fact that you were wearing hoop earrings. Something strikes me as hilarious about that attempt to glam up a GIANT tomato costume. “Sure, I may be wearing 600 square yards of bright red fabric, but GOD DAMN IT, at least my ears look cute!”
Something about the W photo reminds me of Squeaky Fromme (sp?).
The argyle socks totally complete the outfit!
Those are some great pictures.
Damn – I was just thinking that I needed to check out the Akron Costume warehouse that you mentioned getting the tomato costume from last year, because I really want that hat. Woe.
I LOVE this picture. LOVE. It’s like this giant, angry tomato is about to take out the Biggest Idiot. I love it!!!
I am so very very sad that you were literally right outside my office and yet I did not have time to run outside and be entertained.
Wow, does the hat have its own fan club now?
And LOVE this pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31939234@N04/3354591928/in/pool-tomatodance
LOVE the tomato!!! LOVE IT! And the socks, too!
I love that picture more than any picture I’ve seen all year (and I have loads of pictures of my two kids!). Awesome.
Does that wax W look oddly like Tom Brokaw to anyone else?
Yes, he does look like Tom Brokaw at that angle.
Also, I’m guessing the wax version of W would have come across as more intelligent … if only because it can’t talk.
