DC/10: Why We Fight
It’s Veterans Day.
In honor of my grandpa, my Uncle J, and all our other brave folks in uniform, let’s free up some ducats for this project: seventh-graders putting together an oral history featuring their local vets. I love oral histories, myself, and this one teaches empathy AND interviewing skills while building community. Very cool idea, Ms. Post.
We’re also just a few hundred away from $10,000. Let’s power (of ten) through that milestone today, shall we?

Pssht. Made it through $10,000. What’s the record of total donation dollars that we’re shooting for?
Increasing gratitude by increasing awareness. I’m in. And looks like I see $10K in the rear view mirror.
What a wonderful project! It is now fully funded :)
Geez, and I thought my fall allergies were done. Damn watery eyes…
OMG I almost missed it! I was out all last week for a surgery. So glad I caught it. I used the new random project thing and it picked a project in my home state to send a classroom on a train trip! Cool.
So I just went through the DonorsChoose timeline and noted the big hairy project they have scheduled for 2019. I million donors, $100 million donated in one school year? Going to need some planning from the partner organizations too.
They had some angel wipe out AN ENTIRE STATE’s worth of projects a couple years back. And not a teeny state, either. California. So I’m not betting against that shit no how. :)
Sars and Donors Choose inspired my children’s book blog (I won a logo design last year during the Tomato Nation annual challenge) and am so happy to pay it forward now. Piggie, Gerald, and Mo Willems play field trip is now fully funded!
