Save The Day: April 11
1 PM update
80K is in sight, everyone — $79,007!
Got $20 you’d like to finish off a project with? Check out Ann D.’s mini-prizes (just scroll down)! It’s a gratifying way to help out for not much money, and you could win a movie or a DC gift card.
Or you can donate to any arts and/or music project on the leaderboard to win a $10 iTunes gift card! Reader Veronica B. kindly donated the card; now you just have to donate the money. Crayons, easels, iPods — if it’s artsy, forward me a receipt and you’re eligible to win!
8:30 AM update
What a weekend — we kick off Week 2 at $78,666 (so anyone who wants to head over and throw a couple of bucks at that unlucky number right now, feel free). You’ll note that the lovely and generous Megan J., our matcher at 75K, did not dally in putting in the matching $2,500. Thank you so much, Megan…or, as I like to call her, “Prompto.”
Today’s mini-prizing comes from Ann D., who’d like to tell you more about her Giving Pages:
Special Needs blitz today! Let’s share some love with the Special Needs community today. Check out the least expensive projects to complete on the T-Nation Jeopardy < $50 giving page. The FIRE! FIRE! Help or We Expire! page will show the projects near expiration. The Pets4Kids:Special Needs and Appalachia Schools GP will display a whole host of great projects.
Give to any project on any of these Giving Pages, and win one of two $15 DonorsChoose.org gift codes. All donors who give on these three pages are also eligible to win a copy of the Waiting For Superman DVD.
I will update projects all throughout the day on these pages to help as many projects as possible.
Thanks, Ann! Follow these links to make a difference for projects close to expiration — or just do a little budget helping with projects that cost less than $50 to complete. Or check the sortable spreadsheet for other projects that strike your fancy.
Great job so far; still a loooong way to go. Keep whistling, Nation.

One of my favorite artists, cloudery, has a special print for sale in honor of TN’s “Save the Day” – all proceeds go to the TN Donors Choose fundraiser.

Hi,
I just wanted to take a minute to thank Sarah for all that she is doing. I have been with Donors Choose for a little under two years and this is my first experience with Tomato Nation. Running my Giving Page made me realize how much work and effort you have to put into these campaigns. Sarah’s organization and dedication are really heartwarming. I hope she knows how much teachers appreciate what she is doing.I am really excited because I won a T-Shirt too! If you have a chance to check out my Giving Page: http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=155807&category=241&max=25
I am trying my best to find funding for every teacher in our school district (I am about 2/3 of the way there). My district new to Donors Choose and I want them to experience how great it is to be part of the DC family. Every $1 helps and no donation is too small.
Snif. Thank you, Debby.
