Save The Day: April 2
noon update
$14,412! Good job, super-friends. (Even better? I had to update this total thrice while writing the entry!)
Administrative notes: I’ve updated the site FAQ with contest-specific answers, so please give it a read, especially if you’re new to Tomato Nation. Just click that link there, or the button at the top left on each TN page that says “about/FAQ.”
Good news for West Wing/TWoP fans: reader Molly D. is auctioning off vintage MBTV tote bags on eBay! The first auction is underway, and 50% of the proceeds from the Blah Blah Blah Fishcakes tote will go to DonorsChoose.org!
And let’s not forget today’s mini-prize! Donate to any project on the Superpage, and you could win a $25 DonorsChoose.org gift code to spend on whatever you’d like! No need to forward receipts; even a dollar will do it. You’ve got ’til noon ET tomorrow (that’s Sunday April 3), so get to donatin’!

…I just don’t know why I even try to update your numbers, people. $14,499. “Sorry” for the “error.”
Just stopped by to finish off a project on the Superpage before I even saw this update! Let’s go weekend crew!
$15,002! This is AWESOME. I can’t wait for payday so I can get my donating on!
I sent in my little tiny donation – man I want a job in time for the next contest! :)
Totally off-topic, but you don’t have a baseball post up: we’re getting the Tigers on national broadcast with Buck and McCarver.
Not five minutes in, my husband stomps up from the basement growling, grabs the radio, tunes it to the local Tigers radio broadcast, and stomps back down.
He’s a keeper.
Thanks Tomato Nation for all you do for Donors Choose, students, and teachers! You ROCK!
Thanks so much, Tomato Nation! This is my first Tomato Nation contest and it is sooo exciting. One of my projects was funded today thanks to your great donors. I appreciate everything that you are doing for teachers across the country.
@Another Elizabeth SERIOUSLY. I was excited to have the game on Fox, since we live here in Florida now, and I almost couldn’t watch it. I told my husband I was basically listening to them make verbal love to the Yankees. Which is how I feel anytime I watch a national broadcast of Anyone vs. Yankees, really. They mentioned about 10 times that the Yankees were “underdogs” this year but we shouldn’t count them out, yet not a single mention that the Tigers are favored to win the AL Central. Or anything about the race in that division, really. ::twitch::
Also, shut up, Rosenthal.
$15,846! Go, Nation, go!
1) I think you meant to say 17K. I KNOW I DID. Great work, weekend warriors.
2) I’ll address the baseball-related part of the comment in another thread; look for that this afternoon.
