Save The Day: April 26
1 PM update
First of all: $134,923, which in case anyone doesn’t know is a cleansing burst of eleven grand since yesterday. Fantastic work!
I’ve tallied the Giving Page races, and to the surprise of probably no one, Charmaine’s “You Say To-ma-to” page showed ’em all, big and small, with $2,444 raised in the time period. The highest-percentage winner came out of nowhere, bless its little heart; the Almost Home and Others page didn’t even exist yesterday morning, and jumped onto the scene with both feet and $611 for an overall increase of 99.8%.
Excellent work, friends; each of these pages will have a project polished off shortly, and that should push us up over 135K.
“Yeah, yeah, get to the candy.” Fine, jeez! Donate to any project on the leaderboard today; forward me your receipt (if you already donated today, before I announced the mini-prize, you may forward those receipts as well) and you’re eligible to win one of five (5) $10 gift cards to Candy Favorites! You’ve got ’til noon tomorrow ET! Gotta give you time to browse the snacks, don’tcha know. (Browse the projects right here.)
9 AM update
Another tall-building-leaping day for the Legion of Awesome — $132,988! Many thanks to $ and the Mysterians for the 5K match, and to the rest of you for your generous contributions! We’ve entered the homestretch; run hard, super-friends.
Don’t forget, yesterday’s mini-prizing for both GPs and individual donors is still on until noon today ET, so refresh your memory here, then donate away — unless you’d rather wait for the PM mini-prize. You will be either pleased or disgusted to learn that it is sponsored by the Bunting Alimentary Research Foundation, and it involves candy! Stay tuned…

Donated a dollar for each goal the Sharks got in the first round. Would have done a dollar per shot but frankly can’t afford it. The Sharks are going to the second round – if they play again before the end of the month I’ll do this again. Anyone want to match me a dollar a goal by their fav hockey team during the playoffs in April?
