  • Molly says:

    *joins the applause*

My god, you guys. $100,000 in under a month.

  • Brenda says:

    Awesome is the only word!

    Wow.

  • Bubbles says:

Ho-ly monkeys…. I’m in utter awe over here. That is so beyond awesome. Colbert better recognize!

  • Andrea says:

I will both second FloridaErin’s “Squeee!” and add to that my initial reaction: Hot Damn!
    I’m so proud!
    This is…. well, AWESOME!

  • plinko says:

I was actually planning on donating maybe more last-minute, but got beaten to the punch. Sars, if you want to put up another teeny challenge people might go for it, but I get it if you just want to bask in having raised 100,000. Which is totally amazing!

  • Elizabeth says:

HOLY FUCK WE WIN!!! YEAH MOTHERFUCKER!!!

…er, sorry. I’ll try to be more dignified. Except, um, EAT IT, COLBERT.

  • Clairezilla says:

Holy crap! And I mean that in a good way!

In my mind, I see Colbert putting on a bear suit and joining Sars in the Angela dance. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wishes for that.

  • Alan Swann says:

@Clairezilla: oh, if only wishing made it so.

Simply astounding. My jaw has taken up permanent residence on the floor in the wake of this tsunami of awesomeness.

*adds to the by-now-deafening slow clap*

  • Anne-Cara says:

It’s been said, but: AWESOME! :D

  • Laurel says:

Why does this feel even cooler than the AIDS walk I did earlier this year? It just feels so big and so AWESOME and I feel really lucky to be part of it. I think I may need to make one final little awesome donation in celebration of the GENERAL AWESOME… if that makes any sense.

Also, a few months ago I had this idea that maybe if Sars could get everyone to send her a certain amount of money she could just stay home and write for our entertainment full time. But now I know she’d just donate that money to charity anyway because: AWESOME!

  • Bev says:

Maybe you can get Colbert to participate int the Tomato Dance?

  • Bb says:

    One tear…
    And sloooooooooooow clapping.

I wonder if Colbert was $. Perhaps he was part of the awesomiosity that is the TN Challenge. And then realized he could do even more good starting the Colbert Nation challenge. Mind is reeling…

Back to Sars: Congratulations! You have helped many people come together to do something good. Take a moment to enjoy that! (and thank you!)

  • Rach says:

I hadn’t come to the T-Nation until this week! A friend shared the great news and I jumped on board. Wish I could schlepp down to my ole stomping grounds for the dance….darnit.

All this talk of “next year” how about quarterly!

  • Peach says:

Apparently, Public Radio needs to hire Sars for their pedge drives. I’d much rather pledge for an Angela/Tomato dance than for another Morning Edition mug!

    (Though still love ya’ Inskeep!)

  • Karen says:

This is me, joining in the slow clap, while hopping about my office squeeing, while symbolically hoisting Sars up on my shoulders, while fireworks burst out my ears.

    It’s busy in here.

Way to show ’em how it’s done, O Sars, and all the citizens of Tomato Nation!

  • Sars says:

Hey guys, sorry I haven’t posted any updates — busy as hell here in 30 Rock (or, as it will be known after next Friday, “30 Tomato”).

Stay tuned, I’ll post later this evening.

    Continue your awesomeing.

  • Craig says:

That’s some serious awesomeitudiness. I’m going to have to take a long lunch the day of the Tomato Dance and see it in person!

Seconding the SARS FOR PRESIDENT motion – Little Joe & the Hobe with the run of the White House would rock…

  • Laurel says:

    Hey Wendy!
Even thought it doesn’t go on the Tomato Nation thermometer of AWESOMENESS I contributed to your friend’s “Please, Don’t Stop — Number the Stars” project because anything that encourages a love of reading is worth funding!

  • Kirsten says:

Awesome! Talk about making a difference.

Of course…there was still one project not completely funded…so I donated to it.

    Heh.

  • camelama says:

Sniff. Sniff. I’m not crying, no no, I just have a bit of awesomeness in my eye.

That’s it. Just a bit of Tomato Nation awesomeness.

  • I’m picturing those kids who wanted a butterfly garden, and how excited they’ll be to have one now.

I’m also picturing Stephen Colbert bending over and planting a big wet one on Sarah’s kiester.

  • Alexis says:

OMFG SO AWESOME. I was totally going to go back and donate another $10 to something else if it slowed up, but everyone else beat me to it!

  • Anne-Cara says:

@Alexis (and others), there’s still one project that’s almost $800 unfunded! Just because we hit the goal doesn’t mean we need to stop, right?

  • Sarah says:

    AWESOME! Way to go, everyone!

  • Megan says:

Unbelievably wow! Congratulations to everyone who made this happen!

  • LynzM says:

    Fan-freakin’-tabulous! AWESOME!

  • A^3 says:

I have officially requested next Friday off so I can witness the Tomato Dance.

  • Robin says:

It feels awesome to be a part of this. I’d join in the slow clapping but I couldn’t keep on beat if my life depended on it.

Please tell me the tomato dancing will be filmed? Please?

  • Katie says:

I’m hoping the Tomato Dance will be during lunch so I can come.

And I’m SURE many people will film it.

  • Marianne says:

I seriously got the SHIVERS when I scrolled down and saw this.

This is amazing and has completely renewed my faith in humanity after a shitty week.

Thank you, Sars, for initiating all this. You are going to be one amazing tomato!
