Update: 10/28, 11 AM
$105,500-ish as of this writing. Only one word will suffice, and that word is, of course, “awesome.”
Just a reminder: if you haven’t gotten an email from me telling you I’d logged your receipt, you are not yet entered in the contest. The deadline for forwarding receipts is SATURDAY NOVEMBER 1, NOON EASTERN. If you’re not sure, you can re-forward.
I’ve still got lots of catching up to do after my trip but I will get to the mini-prizing this evening (I hope). In the meantime, please enjoy this note from two more of your fans.
DearSarah and Tomato Nation,
Weare so grateful for your help this year and wanted to let you knowthat allof you have helped us in so many ways. We were elated to see three of ourprojects funded by Tomato Nation. Our children will become champion spellerssince we now have Boggle Jr.’s for our first graders and Scrabble Blast! for ourfifth graders. Additionally, your kindness and generosity allowed us to receivea set of Zoo books forall grade levels. I wish the camera could have captured their excitement whenthey helped us open these boxes! Iwanted to give a special thanks to Susan from Teaneck, NJ,since she helped us fund two of these projects.
These material things will impact our children’seducation but it will also touch their hearts knowing that there are people outthere that really care about them and their education. Many of these children have never been to thezoo, or circus, and looking at the pictures of these exotic animals was pureexcitement. A million thanks to all of you and please know that you’ve inspiredour school in Rahway,NJ. We are planning on a Mustachefor Kids fundraiser next and since there are only two male teachers our female teachers will besporting fake ‘staches. We’ll send you apicture! Thanks again, and I hope that small gift certificate to CubanuRestaurant, in Rahway, shows a bit of ourappreciation!

$5838.00 – That’s it, all we need! Can we do that in 3 days? 2? Today? Swimming in a shiny sea of AWESOME!!
I was out of town; got back and saw this amazing number. Really, whoa.
Never been to a zoo? My parents took me to the zoo every year. Sometimes twice. I still go to the zoo even though I’m a big girl now…damn, why is my office so dusty. I’m proud to be part of the Tomato Nation.
Dang. I went to the zoo at LEAST once a month – we live near the Bronx Zoo, and my father loved it as much as I did.
I’m so excited that the desk project got funded.
I’m with Randy’s Girl — let’s finish this up, and get the kids some printing presses, USB drives and golf discs!
I just threw another couple of bucks at the newspaper in New Orleans. Thank you, Sears, for that delivery charge rebate! I’ll be paying you for the fridge next week!
I agree with MM and Randy’s Girl…I’d love to see all the projects funded. Wouldn’t that be something? If the TN community can raise 100K in a month, why not a measly 5K in a few days? Come on, folks!
Let’s go nation! That final PUSH to get ALL of these projects funded! We’re so close!!!
My middle school billiards team will be getting team shirts because of all of the wonderful people @ Tomato Nation. Thank you. THE WORLD IS ORGANIZING because of sites like these and organizations like DonorsChoose.org. Nice shot folks. You’re awesome!
