Help! I’ve been searching desperately for a few years to find an old diffuser fragrance that was sold at Pier 1 Imports.
I think the original scent was carried in about 2007, possibly a couple years after that… It’s called Mad Love and it’s a sweet, but mildly spicy scent that is pretty much the most amazing smell in the history of ever. Pier 1 has since introduced a new Mad Love scent which is awful and not at all what I want.
I’ve tried Googling for dupes and I’ve tried searching eBay for reed diffuser refills that people may have…but my search has come up with nothing. I’ve tried Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware, Bed Bath and Beyond, Bath and Body Works, Target, and just about anywhere I can think of to find something similar…but no dice.
Has anyone heard of this scent, and know where I could find a refill, or possibly a very similar scent?! Mine has finally almost died and I’d like to put it on my Christmas list for my boyfriend to get me. I’d very much appreciate any help!
Thanks!

If you can figure out the elements of the scent, then you might be able to duplicate it yourself with a little experimentation:

Would leave your boyfriend getting you the aromatherapy oils instead of the actual refills, though. Not sure if that’s ideal, but if The Nation can’t help you otherwise maybe it’s worth a shot?
Back in 2007 others were looking for this

They seem to point to these people who may have duplicated it

The Vermont Country Store (online)
almost specializes in this kind of stuff – things people loved that don’t seem to be available anymore. I doubt they can solve this before Christmas, but it is a place to try.

@Barb And if you order something from the VCS, you will get their catalog forever, and that catalog — like American Science and Surplus, but for different reasons — is fantastic reading. VCS is also great for stocking-stuffers. And pfeffernusse. And ginormous nighties Dorothy Zbornak would reject as too voluminous.
I heart VCS. If you’re the sentimental sort, it’ll make you go “My Grandma had those!” until you get all weepy.
I mean, I heard that.
Ahem.
I ordered one thing from VCS last year, but the catalog is definitely the gift that keeps on giving! Also, my mother swears by those flannel nightgowns.
Almost totally O/T, but I’m always amused that the Vermont Country Store has sex toys.[Ahem, excuse me. “Sexual wellness products.” Whatevs.]
