I’ve been looking for a true crime novel that I remember reading about. Multiple searches have turned up nothing.
I think it’s written by the son of a woman murdered by a fellow church member after he became obsessed with the author’s family. I think there was something about his father getting suspicious about shady dealings with the church that they were members of. His father may have been the new pastor.

Cloe,
Googling that exact string turned up A Twisted Faith, which doesn’t sound like quite the right thing — but it’s unclear whether it’s a true-crime book or a novel based on a real case. Maybe it’s the Arthur Burton Schirmer case, but that doesn’t sound like the one either.

I also came across Love Me or Else (http://www.amazon.com/Love-Me-Else-Devoted-Jealousy/dp/0312540825), which doesn’t sound exactly right, but has some similar elements.
The Devil in Pew Number Seven?
Details are a little different but I think it might be the one you are thinking of.

I immediately thought of Devil in Pew Number Seven except it was written by the daughter.
Best of luck searching!
Yes! That’s what it was, The Devil in Pew Number Seven!
Woo-hoo! I have gotten them right before but never been first! This is a big deal for this librarian.
Also, I found it on Scribd (which I have a subscription to)! Double bonus!
Help, I have fallen down the true-crime rabbit hole with these titles!
The Devil in Pew Number Seven is going to be a movie:
