The Vine: March 11, 2015
For the last year I’ve been hearing about The Great British Bake Off and how awesome it is.
But I could never find it to watch it. Now that PBS is airing it and I’ve seen how great it is, I’d really like to watch the previous seasons. But I can’t find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find them? I’m totally willing to pay!
New British Bake Off Fan
Dear Fan,
Looks like it’s available on iTunes, at least in part; I’ve also found Series 1 here, on YouTube, though the sound’s a bit naff. Or maybe that’s just how Mel and Sue sounded back then? Hee. Have fun!
Readers, other links and recs? Throw ’em in our proving drawer.

Looks like they’re on YouTube if you’re not picky about format.
Looks like, inexplicably, seasons 3 and 5 (which is the one that aired on PBS) are available on amazon.co.uk through their instant video. I’m not sure how the playback would work from an American IP address — it might be fine, or you might need to use an IP service, like Tunnel Bear, to make it look like you’re in the UK. (Same may go for buying through iTunes UK)
NOT THAT I’VE EVER USED ANY SUCH SERVICE TO WATCH ANY PROGRAM EVER. *slinks away*
I’m so happy you asked this because I’ve been wondering the same thing — just got hooked on it this season. And….. Bake!
I watched it free on youtube
Aw, I was excited at the thought of buying it from iTunes, but can’t seem to find the links. Will have to settle for YouTube.
@Kimber–they won’t display in the US iTunes store; you can see them in the British one but they won’t sell to a USAn.
