Hello Sars,

Sometime back in 1976-1980, I had a Snoopy plush doll that was about 10″ (or so) tall, and one could buy outfits for him separately. There was a motorcycle outfit, a baseball outfit, a pajamas set, etc.

I now have a daughter for whom I would love to find one of these dress-up Snoopy dolls.I tried to run a search online and all I can find are random eBay offerings.Do “they” (not even sure who they are anymore) not sell this Snoopy doll anymore?

I’m hoping that one or more of your readers can either a) let me know where to purchase a plush Snoopy doll and clothes for said doll, or b) tell me if they know for certain that that era has passed and that Snoopy dolls are no longer to be found.

My own Snoopy doll was played with to the point that he is no longer in good enough shape to handle another child’s love and attention, and his clothes are long gone.

I hope someone is able to point me in the right direction!

Thank you,

Not a Peanuts nut, but loved the Snoopy doll

Dear Nuts,

My cousin had one of those dolls!I was obsessed with getting to play with it when we had holidays at their house, too (which she was pretty gracious about; thanks, Cousin H).The time frame sounds right, and I definitely remember those outfits.

As far as finding one now, if Googling a string like “Peanuts merchandise dress-up Snoopy” isn’t working, it’s down to eBay and your local Craigslist. It may prove pretty difficult to find intact clothes and a Snoopy who’s still in good enough shape to be played with, at least at an affordable price, but you never know.

I tried searching “11” plush Snoopy” on ebay and found this which would seem to match the description. Also listed were outfits like this tennis one although there weren’t many. I hope this helps, and good luck.

  • Whitney says:

I had one too, but mine was a girl Snoopy. Did she have a name? I don’t know.

    Anyway, AWESOME! I want one!

  • MB says:

@Whitney: the girl Snoopy was named Belle. I had both, with tons of clothes including wedding ensembles for them. Man, I loved those things. I think they’re still in my parents’ basement somewhere. I need to dig them out and play!

  • Lauren says:

I used to work for Metlife and there was alot of Snoopy’s merchandise.

They have a company store with some smaller plush Snoopy dolls.

  • Charity says:

I had a girl Snoopy! Her name was Belle and she came in a box/carry-case that looked like a closet, along with a bunch of clothes. I think she was vinyl instead of plush, though the size is right, and I bought her in 1983 with my birthday money my grandmother had sent me. Wow, this is bringing back some memories. I loved that doll!

  • Mary says:

My mom still has my dress-up Snoopy in the toy basket that she brings out when the grandkids come over! My son didn’t care a bit for him; I’m hoping my daughter will be more excited when she gets a little older. I remember a bunch of us had them and it was such a huge deal to get a new outfit. Why was that so much fun? (We were tweens at the time.) Sorry, Nuts, I know that doesn’t answer your question, but I just had to chime in that I was part of that cult too.

  • tljgator says:

She was Snoopy’s girlfriend, and her name was “Belle.” They also sold Woodstock, and Snoopy’s brother, “Spike.” I had the entire collection and loved them dearly. Good memories! :)

  • Andreya says:

My Snoopy is about 30 inches tall, his clothing is made by Determined Productions. I think I got their catalog in the ’80s through the Snoopy Fan Club. I remember buying the smaller Snoopy and Belle outfits too, they’d fit on my cat stuffed animals better than baby-doll clothes. I always thought it was cool that the Snoopy pants have a hole in the seat for the tail. ( I was allowed to put my 2-year-old brother’s clothes on Snoopy, but not vice-versa.)

  • Jen M. says:

I had Belle and my brother had Snoopy. We got them for Christmas one year. Good times.

If you can’t find Snoopy, maybe Build a Bear has a dog that comes close? I know they have a ton of outfits.

  • Sarah says:

Wasn’t there like directors chairs and other furniture you could buy for Snoopy and Belle? I loved my Snoopy. Too hard. The nose seemed to fall off a lot.

  • Shannon says:

Searching “snoopy’s wardrobe” on ebay brings up some good results, and I bet if you search the net, called Knott’s Berry Farm’s store or the Schulz Museum’s store you could find a ’10 Snoopy plush.

As a little girl I had a slightly smaller Snoopy who was my best pal. I hope you find what you’re looking for so your daughter can have a Snoopy pal too!

  • LadyOscar says:

Oo, my sister had these, including Snoopy’s brother Spike. We never played with humanoid dolls, so dress-up Snoopy filled that niche.

  • Gina says:

I had that, too. It might still be put away somewhere. I had just about every Snoopy. My favorite was a stuffed one that was made of a cotton (like shetes are made of) rather than plush.

  • Anna says:

    http://www.schulzmuseum.org/store/

I live near the Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA, and I know they have quite a variety of merch in their store. I don’t think they sell everything online, but they are easy to contact and might be able to work something out for you over the phone.

All things Peanuts are ubiquitous around here, and before he died, you used to sometimes see “Sparky” Schulz practice with the hockey league at Snoopy’s Ice Arena.

  • Kay says:

Ooh! I had Belle and Snoopy! And (name dropping-sorry) Charles Schulz actually gave me mine. My dad did his son’s wedding, and my dad and Mr. Schulz ended up getting along really well. I got very sick soon after the wedding and he came by the house to give them to me. I miss them! Thanks for the nostalgia. Sorry to be of no help at all.

  • Erin says:

I would call the Charles Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. I bet their museum store carries all available Snoopy merch!

  • Snoopy Nut says:

I’ve loved all of your comments. My Snoopy’s nose fell off, too, and it did it enough times that the nose he ended up with was not the one he started with. I had a very good friend that also had a Snoopy doll, and we spent countless hours playing with them. There is the chance (likelihood?) that after all of this, I will find her one only to have her dismiss it right off the bat, but I’d still be excited to have one for her (um, yes, for her). Thank you all!!

  • Mimi B says:

I had one too! But I think it’s gone to that great big doghouse in the sky, unfortunately, because my daughter would love it. Ebay & Knotts are great suggestions and I also love the idea of creating a new tradition with Buildabear. Good luck!

  • Kristi says:

I still have my dress-up Snoopy and Belle from when I was a kid in the ’80s. I had the flying ace outfit for Snoopy and loved that thing. Belle is plush like Snoopy, she’s just smaller/shorter. She’s not vinyl as someone suggested, but it’s certainly possible another company (or maybe the same one) made vinyl Snoopy/Belle dolls.

I think hounding (hee) ebay for Snoopy items is the best way to find what you seek, and I see others have already supplied links.

  • Angie says:

Here’s a link to a vintage plush Snoopy with a boxers’ outfit.

  • Jen S says:

I still have my Snoopy and he still wears the Happy Birthday Tshirt I got him in (a birthday present, natch.) I bought him a little red sleeper and nightcap as a kid at Circus Circus in Las Vegas, of all places.

  • Vail says:

If you can’t find snoopy, try Build A Bear Workshop. My daughter (5 1/2) loves the place, you can get tons of stuff for your “bear” (they have other animals too) and they even have great costumes (she didn’t go for the Batman one though darn it). We did get a Hello Kitty from there (I know, I love Hello Kitty it’s a blast from my childhood). They also have animals that benefit charities.

  • Jules says:

I had that doll! And Belle! And Spike, too! I bet they’re all still in a box somewhere in my parents’ attic! I hope you find one!!

  • Lauren says:

Belle is actually Snoopy’s sister, not his girlfriend.

He has three brothers that I can remember: Spike, Andy & Olaf. Wikipedia says that he has a brother named Marbles, too, but I don’t remember him.

    I was a total Peanuts nut as a kid–still am, really. :)

  • AmandaJeanne says:

oh my gosh! i had totally forgotten how much i wanted those dolls! i was a huge peanuts freak as a kid–listened to the snoopy vs red baron album every day, had hardcover treasuries, stickers, all that crap–i even carried around some paperback collections and slept with them a la linus.

  • Lauren says:

OMG, just last night I was telling my husband about the Snoopy and Belle dolls we had as kids, and their fabulous outfits – we had the WWI Flying Ace outfit (with goggles and silky scarf) and a Scotsman outfit complete with sporran. I loved those dolls like crazy! Our Belle lost her nose in an attack by (ironically) our live beagle.

  • TashiAnn says:

All this past weekend I kept thinking about the Snoopy store in Water Tower Place in Chicago. It was on the 7th floor by the elevators. My sister and I used to go to that store and just dream about all the clothes for Snoopy and Belle, both of which I believe were my sisters. They had just hundreds of different snoopy dolls and toys, games, clothes, magnets and just everything snoopy. It was a very, very rare occasion that our parents would buy us anything there; we had to use our own money, but we loved that store and would save up our allowance. Thanks for the memories!

  • Annie says:

I had those too! I hadn’t thought about them in years. As I was reading the letter, I thought, “Wasn’t there a female one too? What was her name?” Thanks to all the other commenters for reassuring me that I haven’t completely lost it.

  • ezila says:

Mine were vinyl – and I still remember that damn song:

“Snoopy and Belle, all dressed up and lookin’ swell….”

  • Ellen says:

Hey – I searched “Snoopy wardrobe” on Ebay and there’s a 10 inch Snoopy with a bunch of outfits for about $15.00 – I miss my Snoopy too! He also got loved to pieces. I especially loved his train engineer’s outfit. Sigh.

  • Miss Twitch says:

I don’t know of anything others haven’t mentioned, but I distinctly remember an entire Snoopy STORE in Va. Beach when I was a kid, so the merch ought to be out there…

  • Janet says:

Snoopy’s Gallery and Gift Store in Santa Rosa has the whole family in 9 inch plush. (Siblings Marbles, Spike, Belle, Andy, & Olaf. Buy the set and they throw in Snoopy for free!)

They all come with t-shirts but it doesn’t look like they have any other outfits.

  • Mary says:

About 3 or 4 years ago, my parents bought my daughter a Snoopy with aviator outfit (pleather jacket, goggles, hat, scarf). They think he might have come from Kohls, but can’t swear to it. I don’t recall having seen him there since, so it may have been a limited deal, if that’s in fact where he came from.

  • Beth says:

I had that cute little snoopy too! I remember him very well he was my favorite childhood toy. I was 9, we lived in New York, my mother bought me that snoopy from Macy’s dept. store and she got me some of the little outfits too., i remember the doctors, cowboy, and baseball. i was flying on airplane from N.Y. to Arizona to visit my grandparents and i took snoopy with me i stayed part of the summer and on the way back i had that checkered red shirt that went to the cowboy outfit on my snoopy when i took it off snoopy it had stained his furry white body red and i was so mad, when i got back i told my mother she either got the red out or bought me another can’t remember. Anyhow, i eventually lost snoopy and forgot him as i grew up.

i’ve looked for him too on ebay and found the same problems in trying to determine which snoopy was mine. problem is the tag on those vintage snoopy plush dolls all say the same year 1968 so all the sellers say he is from 1968 WRONG! my snoopy was bought in 1979. between now and than they made more snoopy plush dolls and made outfits, I think belle came out in the early 1980’s and clothes for her too. and they made different size snoopy’s and different size clothes. when i look on ebay i can’t tell the snoopy’s apart i see 9′, 10′, 11′, 12′ inch ones, and some even much bigger and they look the same. one thing i did notice is the tail, i think my snoopy had a black tail, and some look just like him and have a white tail.

i found this page because i was looking for the same info. on snoopy cause i have about 4 of them that i have found over the last 5 years at estate sales, all have white tails, 1 is belle and she is only 9 1/2 inches, 1 10′ inches, 1 11′ inches & 1 11 1/2 inches. i have several clothes for belle and a few for snoopy. I soaked all of them in a laundry oxygen cleaner. They came out great! they have pure snow white fur again and smell good too. i’m going to list them on ebay too. i will come back and leave the auction #’s for you to find them. ebay proberly the best place to find these. you should try searching for the clothes. the snoopy & belle collection clothes by knickerbocker are not for these dolls they were made for the plastic snoopy & belle’s produced which were only 8-8 1/2 inches tall. you want the united feature syndicate a determined product.

and you should ask the size of the snoopy & see if you can find the clothes and they should say for 11′ or 12′ inch snoopy etc. oh, unfortunatley what we thought was cute somehow our kids don’t. least mine didn’t, i ended up buyiing my daughter a similar product, they were the ty kids. there were only 30 of them produced so cute reminded me of my snoopy, there were several outfits produced for these beanie dolls, some girls some boys etc. i bought her all of the dolls off ebay and several outfits, she has the boxes to the outfits, and cases to carry the dolls, she don’t play with them anymore, there boxed up cause she’s 13 now, but she won’t part with them, she says she saving them for her kids. GOODLUCK!!

I have that Snoopy he has a directors chair and a caaardboard armoire type box teat his clothes hang in. There are quite a few different costumes. The flying ace with jacket and hat w/googles. A camp outfit.
Pajamas and several other outfits. They are all in really great condition. If anyone can tell me anything about it such as how much it might be worth I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Anne

I got a stuffed Snoopy from a shop while we were travelling and visiting all those cheesy kids places in the Adirondacks (Land of Make Believe, Santas Workshop, etc). My Snoopy had boxing gloves (vinyl/plastic) on and I loved him. About 15 inches tall. If anybody has one, I sure wish they’d post a photo. I have looked and looked and not found a photo of the one I had. It would be so great to see him again. :( Me too…not a big Peanuts fan but I loved that Snoopy!

  • Sara says:

I am also looking for the 10″ Snoopy plush. My grandma had one that I played with that used to belong to my uncle. He had the Flying Ace outfit complete with the scarf. A few years ago I tried to ask my grandma if she would let me have it and she informed me that my uncle took it back to give to his children, which I’m sure had poor Snoopy killed in a matter of days. So if anyone can find me one for reasonable priced with a flying Ace I would love it!
