Update: 10/9, 10 AM

I continue to amass prizes; check the prizing page for the latest.

iTunes mini-prize notifications going out in 15 minutes.

Next mini-prize: a donation to “Volley Into Learning” will net five (5) lucky winners a “Brooklyn, County of Kings” coffee mug from Artez’n. The project has only a few days left, and polishing it off will put us at 40K — let’s get that match.

We can do it.   All of us together can do it.   This is where it gets hard, right in the middle here after the initial flurry of donations.   If you’ve already given your $10, you’re awesome — can you link to it from your blog, tell a friend at work, mention it at your house of worship’s fellowship hour?   Can you find even $5 more somehow from selling a book on Half.com or skipping meat for a few days?

As of this writing, 549 of you heroes have helped almost six thousand kids.   More heroes are out there, I know it.   And I would hate to have to list my beloved orange cat on eBay as a plastic-bag flavor quality control device.   Please don’t make me do that.

What’s the status on TN/DC Bumper stickers? My bumper feels all naked.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

God, could I forget to post about that a few more times?

I will get to that today. I swear.

  • Toni says:

I sent in a donation the minute I got paid yesterday, and I hope to donate again when I get paid in another two weeks. Hopefully others will do the same.

  • Maria says:

    Hee! You said “net.”

Payday can’t come fast enough. There’s a proposal for an AED for a child with a heart condition. I need to fund that.

I have a large, furry, orangish black hole of emotional need I would also like to donate to the prizing. Not sure about his plastic bag testing skills, but he is excellent at testing milk to make sure it is not poisioned by enemies.

  • Kat says:

I already have my initial “thank you” from the teacher and I am so squishy inside!! I recommend it as the cure-all for whatever angst ails you.
I, too, will scrape up a donation once I get paid again.

  • Sara T. says:

My mom and my ex-boyfriend donated! <3 I probably will be able to donate again in a week or two when I get paid. Hopefully that’s just what people are waiting for!

  • Sandman says:

Am I reading this right? Eighteen pages of TN projects on the DC website, approximately 9.5 pages of which are now … funded?

That, my friends, is what Awesome looks like. Let’s keep it up.

I like to look at the numbers, and while TN is an awesome group (she says modestly) it looks even more awesome when looking at the overall DC challenge info.
Currently 112,000 donated in the ENTRIRE blogger challenge, making TN well over 1/3 of the TOTAL donations.
Obviously TN is leading the ‘general blogs’ group. But the next entire group is at just shy of 29k.
    TN is AWESOME!

  • Kim says:

Payday is the 15th, and I am counting the seconds–this is my first priority! Don’t make the Hobe work the corner.

  • Lis says:

I may be asking a dumb question, but if I’ve already been entered into the general contest by getting an email confirmation from Sars can I still send my receipt for this specific mini-contest or is that going to make things too confusing?

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Yes, please send your receipt for this specific mini-contest. I will weed out any dupes for the main prizing later.

    When in doubt: send it.
