The Squared Up Podcast, Episode 1: Pith Fail

Submitted by on November 23, 2010 – 9:23 AM4 Comments

It didn’t feel like an hour, but that’s how long inaugural guest Couch Baron and I blathered on about baseball in the first episode of The Squared Up Podcast. I’ll have a better handle on the length (and the Garage Band editing tools) in future episodes.

We just missed the MVP announcements, but TSUP #1’s lineup includes the Cy Young and Manager of the Year awards; the Jeter contract negotiations; poor styling choices of the ’80s; Zoolander; Colonel Kurtz; baseball boyfriends; Fire(d) Joe Morgan; the Luis Sojo SPF 4 Plaque; that (Terry) Collins chap is losing it; and more!

Couch Baron, a.k.a. John Ramos, is a film producer and writer living in Los Angeles. He recently produced a film called East Fifth Bliss starring Dexter‘s Michael C. Hall. He writes for Television Without Pity and also on his own blog, Pull Up A Chair. You can follow him on Twitter (and get updates on his film).

You know me: I’m Sarah D. Bunting, and I enjoy picking fights about snacks, showing no respect for Sandy Alderson at this difficult time, and running that Dave Stieb joke into the ground.

I can’t wait to read your comments, discussion topics, guest requests, and sputtery defenses of Moneyball — bunting at tomatonation dot com.

Excellent podcast! Would love a downloadable version, but I have no problem parking myself in front of the desktop to hear it. Can’t wait for #2.

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

@Chris: Me too! Heh. It’s been submitted to iTunes and should be subscribable in a short time.

  • Ausimone says:

SQUEE! I am so excited to see a pic of my favorite-of-all-time Cardinal Willie McGee! I haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast in its entirety yet, but I will listen at the first opportunity.

OK, listened and very much enjoyed. Poor Willie…he’s like the blind date your mom sets up — he’s got such a great personality!

I nominate Randy Johnson for the Kevinthion (sp) That guy gives me the heebie jeebies.
