Joe R could use some help here, folks:

Need: a bar that’ll be showing the Islanders-Sabres playoff game next Friday night.

It’s for a Sabres fan (obviously), so on the off chance that some Buffalo expat has an establishment worth going to, that’d be awesome, but at base I just need a place to see the games. Isles fans or no.

Hit it, readers.

I assume this means in NYC? Blondie’s (W 79th, btw B’way and Amsterdam) always has hockey on and will turn at least one TV for you if they happen to be innundated with fans of something else that’s playing, as the bar and dining areas are both lined with televisions. You may need reservations if you want to sit at a table, but the bar area is good.

I’ve met hockey fans from a number of areas, including many places in Canada, while watching games there. It was my crowd’s playoff spot and we were never alone. Many expats in jerseys and all, so it’s certainly possible there may be Buffalo fans there.

McFadden’s on 42nd & 2nd shows Buffalo Bills games every Sunday,
complete w/ beef on weck and other Buffalo delicacies. That would be
my bet for the playoff game–and even if it’s not a special Buffalo
fan night, it’s a pub, so they should have the game on.

One of my best friend’s is a Buffalo-ite. She’s gone to Blue Moon on 75th and 1st (hockey and Mexican food. A natural combo.). Also, McFadden’s on 42nd and 2nd.

Yes, sorry, I mean in NYC. And thanks for the recommendation, Beez.

    Keep ’em coming, TNers!

The absolute place to go for Sabres fans in NYC is Blue Moon on the Upper East Side(1st Avenue and 75th Street). There’s a popular contingency of Bills fans in NYC, some that I know, known collectively as the Bills Backers of NYC. I emailed one of them, and he advised that a large gathering get together there. I found the website listing, and there’s even a link to Sabres related events that have taken place there. Here’s the website URL:
