Again With This, Emmy oversights, and the Girls’ Bike Club’s sad prescience.

Yo. Trying out a new feature-let here, kinda like a lunchtime-links thing, kinda like an open-thread thing. We’ll see if it turns into anything. Here’s what’s on my mind/screen today. Let’s talk about it!

I’m over it with the addiction arc on Mr. Robot.

Wing and Couch Baron fulminating in the direction of 90210 is the best.

Really, Emmys? NO RECTIFY?

Way ahead of Barry on the Cosby allegations.

Oh how I loved the GBC. Back in the day I had the GBC shirt, the Wonder Killer shirt and GFY’s “I hate what you’re wearing” shirt and they were worn in rotation until all were decimated. I’m hoping at least one of them gets resurrected through the EHG store.

I can’t wrap my head around the Cos either. I have such fond memories of him and it’s hard to reconcile those with all this monstrous stuff emerging. And his wife’s unwavering support is so sad.

I really want to love Mr. Robot, and yet I can’t get into it. Christian Slater may be the reason. I loved his affect as JD in Heathers, but I was 16 and wildly into bad boys (in my head). Now, it just seems tired. Of course, not loving clichéd hacker girl either, so maybe it’s just not for me after all.

I am DYING. I cherish my GBC CD- my friend and I text each other with GBC quotes ALL THE TIME. And now I have hours of 90210 podcast and I am doing the silent old man wheeze laugh at my desk. Thank you for being so incredibly awesome.

  • Jaybird says:

I go back every so often to re-read my favorite GBC bits and then I sit there laughing so hard I’m not even making noise, just sort of faint rhythmic clicks every so often. And my husband gets worried that I’m having a stroke, but I wave him off and click on another GBC piece and start over. Someday I really will have a stroke and nobody will notice.

  • Susan says:

I forgot how much I loved the GBC! I’m drinking a beer at the airport and smirking/laughing to myself just a little too much now.

  • Toni says:

I’m thinking my GBC CD needs to be put back in rotation in my car’s CD player. Think it’s appropriate for my three-year-old?

  • Sarah D. Bunting says:

Hmm. Is your child named Dawson?

  • Toni says:

No, but it will give her the BEST one-liners to bust out at preschool.
