Contest: Sunday is a day of rest…

Submitted by on October 4, 2009 – 10:50 AM6 Comments

…but not for mini-prizing!   “Social Activists in Training” expires today; anyone donating to that project and forwarding me their receipt by 11:59 PM ET today can win a Mrs. Potatohead.   (The email is bunting at tomatonation dot com.)

$24,190 in three and a half days. Good work.   Keep it up.

Don’t forget to check the FAQ and the prizing page periodically for updates (top righthand side of the homepage).   New loot keeps coming in from your generous colleagues in the readership.

Sunday is also a day of football, and a reader has just donated a pretty sweet prize on that tip; definitely check the prizing page, all y’all football fans.

    Also, you’ve funded 91 projects. NINETY-ONE.

    THAT’S AWESOME.

  • charmaine says:

    That is AWESOME!!!

  • Elizabeth says:

By my calculations we’ve averaged about $283 an hour at this point, which puts us on pace to hit $210,906 — not even counting the Mysterians’ $5k match.

Or, to put it another way, we need about $6,775 a day to hit the tomato goal, and we are right on schedule.

Hey, Nation: I was browsing projects last night and saw a whole bunch with corporate match offers. Now, I don’t think their match money would count toward our total, but who cares? It means our money has double impact! Keep an eye out for those when you’re sending them along to Sars. Let’s make the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation work for their rep.

Inches away from 25K, folks. Give it a little push now…

  • charmaine says:

Here is one that only needs $86 to complete. And if you do, you get a wonderful thank you packet from the class. If you have never received one, they are so inspiring http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=298011&challengeid=23248
