Might as well wait for y’all to finish the bonus round. Won’t take longer than, what, 20 minutes?

Yeah, that’s a dare, Awesome X. You got a problem with that? Express it in a love of ballroom dance.

Hehe I already donated to the ballroom dance one because I am a SYTYCD fangirl. :)

  • Annie says:

It seems that people on the Internet are really into the idea of you dressing up as a giant tomato. I be down with dat.

    90%

  • Heather says:

    92%! Wow.

  • Michelene says:

Sars — just print off a (32-page?) screen capture of every contest-related message you’ve received since midnight. And of the inspirational exploding thermometer.

(Which will happen in ju-ust a few minutes, right, donators?)

I’m sure your other job will have no choice but to understand.

92%, and I am welded to my chair.

  • Shanchan says:

I just had to donate to the ballroom dance one- We will be “Dancing with the Sars,” after all! (Sorry, couldn’t help it!)

Two donations now, still no receipt- Sars, how long do we have to get the receipts to you for contest purposes? (I’ve emailed donorschoose about it, hopefully all is good.)

  • Tisha_ says:

I’ve had to pee for the past 30 minutes, but I can’t move. lol I need to see the 100% happen. I missed the last round, so I NEED to see this one!

  • MsMolly says:

    94% Oooh, the suspense!

  • Jenn says:

wait a minute, it explodes at 100%????

  • Kel says:

I have yet to start work today because I keep refreshing the page. INSANITY!

I donated to the Ballroom dance project…because I love me some “Mad Hot Ballroom.”

  • Sars says:

@Shanchan: you’ll have enough time. Eventually someone at DC will get back to you (we’re probably swamping them right now) but you won’t miss the window, don’t worry — if I’m about to close entries, I’ll announce it here and give people a chance to get their receipts in.

  • klm says:

Good lord, I went to bed (on the West Coast) before the bonus round was up and just got to work and it’s almost DONE? Unreal!

  • Tisha___ says:

OMG! 98%… wait, I refreshed again and it went back down to 94%. WTF?

  • Heather says:

98!!!! This is so freaking awesome!

  • Jen says:

Wait, what’s this about getting receipts in? If I donated through the website with a credit card, doesn’t it just get applied straight to the challenge or is there something further I need to do to make that happen?

  • Annie says:

WE DID IT WE DID IT!! AGAIN!!

  • Christina says:

    100%! Wow!

  • Tisha___ says:

Everytime I refresh now it says a different percentage. Is it really 100% or is something fishy going on with my computer?

  • WendyD says:

SWEET! 100%! Now does the Ballroom Dance still get polished off into the next round? I already donated to that one.

  • Michelene says:

Yes — 100% The lucky children will learn how to tango, and I can have my shower.

God bless you, one and all.

[Sars, dude, we’re wiping you out with our simultaneous congratulatory posts!]

  • Allisoon says:

OK, how crazy is it that I tried to donate to the “sports texts” project (which, by the way, is so fantastic – I wish I had teachers like that, back in the day)…and by the time I filled out the form, someone had already beat me to it and it was completely fulfilled?

And by “crazy” I mean “awesome”.

Looking forward to the extra-super next bonus round so I can get in there.

  • bronte says:

Woo! Now I really can go home. I saw it start to finish, Luckily I had an early lunch today or I would be starving by now.

Just as I saw the 100% come up at Donors Choose I refreshed Tomato Nation and got …

This site has exceeded it’s CPU for the past 60 secs.

We are awesome. And compulsive checkers of updates.

  • Michelene says:

You have to forward your donation receipt to Sars at Tomato Nation dot com to be entered in the contest.

Don’t forget that bit, or you’ll lose your chance at Claire Dane’s autographed box set. (And whatever else is on offer — not to impune the other prizes, but I’ve personally got my eye on this one.)

  • Jen says:

Oh noes! Ballroom dance expired without getting all it’s funds! That was the one I just donated to. What happens with that now?

  • Michelene says:

I think the DonorsChoose site is struggling to keep up with the frantic activity on this round; but I think it’s safe to say we’ve hit 100%.

  • Laura says:

Ballroom dancing expired with $507 to go? Frown.
Maybe DC can make an exception for our awesomeness, and open it back up, so that we can finish it off in 45 seconds or so.

  • Heqit says:

    awesome awesome awesome!

So…the ballroom kids who are currently listed as “expired” will get their $507 somehow, right? Bonus bonus round!

  • Sars says:

We’d already hit 5K so I threw in the remainder of the ballroom funds just to neaten things up. That may have crossed some wires re: exact math on the DC server, but don’t worry, we’re up over 5K.

    New bonus round is up.
