Nikolupdate: A word from Captain Sunbeam
Awww. The tsar is doing very well; his thyroid is back to functioning at normal levels, and he’s even put on some weight. Thanks for the update, Leila and Matt.

Aw…what a happy boy!
Damn, I envy tsar Nikolai- that looks like one very happy, cared-for, basking in a sunbeam cat. Thank you for the update!
So very Lord of the Manor there. Thanks for the update!!!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome!
Oh, smoosh the belly! Smooooooosh. nuzzlenuzzlenuzzle smoosh.
Ahem. Lost myself.
Regal basking! The best!
What a good boy! He looks like he’s waiting for his royal servants to serve him on a silver platter.
What a lucky little cat. Thanks for the update.
Long live the Tsar! I love how cozy cats feel after they’ve been lying in the sun.
Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy?? You are!
Seriously, so awesome that he’s doing well!
Awww!!! I’m so happy to see this!
Hooray for the Fuzzy McCrittersons! *scoops kitty up*
You guys made me adopt a vagrant cat of my own in December, so inspired was I by the response to Niko!
Yay for Nikolai! Basking indeed :)
Aw, so beautiful. Thanks for posting the update.
so glad you posted this. Great great great to see how happy he is!
What a little fuzzpot! Huzzah for the furry orange Tsar!
LOVE IT! So many similarities to my Edgar’s story — thyroid, abandoned, orange, long-haired! Sars, you’re fabulous for many reasons, but this one might be the best.
Further proof (as if any were needed) that orange tiger cats are the true rulers of the planet. Long live the Tsar, and the servants who attend him!
Kitty! I’m so happy he’s doing well and lounging around in the manner he deserves.

Agreed, robin. What is it about orange cats? They not only rule our planet, but their home world as well. Nikolai is probably communicating with the mother ship while pretending to snooze.
Aw!!! I wish my kitties had that much sunshine to bask in. Sadly, my new apartment got shafted on the whole “natural light” thing. I hope they’re not mad at me for moving there!
That is the PERFECT belly for whuffling. It would be totally worth the bop on the nose I would get, too.
There really IS something about orange kitties, isn’t there? So loving. That’s probably why my Dommie (a tuxedo cat, all the way) used to bring me orange kittens. Yup, more than once. “Look, Mom! Just what you needed! Another child to raise!” A very curious pastime for an adult male cat.
@La Bell – But where did he keep finding them?! That is funny.
@La BellaDonna: Aw! That is so sweet! Dommie obviously recognized the superior nature of orange kitties and wanted to share the wonder that is them with you.
@Krissa: I’m not entirely certain. I can’t help wondering if he had something to do with the PRODUCTION of those little orange kittens; he was a full-grown adult when he came into my life, and he’d been living outside for a while. It took a few months to get him into the vet’s for the *snip*, and meanwhile? Orange kittens!
@Princess Leah: heh. Sometime I’ll have to tell you the story about the stray orange kitty that tried to drag me out of the house, to be his forever!
